Life for the first quarter of 2026!

2026-04-06

The first quarter of the year just closed, and I’ve found myself staring at a blinking cursor more often than usual, thinking about what to share here.

The journey hasn't been easy, but it’s been honest. If I had to sum up Q1 in three words, they would be: Rust, Resilience, and Rejections.

The Rust Part

My journey into Rust hasn’t been a walk in the park. The learning curve isn't just steep; it’s a vertical cliff. I’ve built four apps already to sharpen what I’ve been learning. Yes, I use AI (everyone does) to help with some of the boilerplate and complex logic, but the real learning happens in the gaps.

I’m learning that I can build whatever I think of. (One of the reasons I think I am Superman.)

The Job Search

Honestly? The job search is draining. I keep applying, and I keep getting rejected. It’s a repetitive cycle that wears you down if you let it. But deep down, I feel things are changing. I don't think I’m ready for “just any” job anymore.

Everything in me is screaming to learn harder stuff and shoot for higher roles. I don't want to settle for the low-hanging fruit that will collapse after 3 years, when I know I’m capable of building something for NASA.

The reality is tough, though. Seeing the bank account dwindle each day is a peculiar kind of stress. I’m still freelancing to keep things afloat, but it’s a balancing act.

Market Wins

Despite the rejections, there are moments of pure validation. We recently delivered a large market management platform for a client. Now, seeing the number of users and transactions flowing through it... it’s one of those things that reminds you why you do this. The client is happy, and the system is solid.

Why is this necessary?

You might be wondering—I’m currently taking on new projects. If you or your relatives want a job done great, or if you simply want to see me not die of starvation, reach out. Here is what I can do:

  • General Software Development (Rust/TS)
  • AI Integration & Automation
  • Scalable System Design
  • Helping you eat better (lmaooooo)

Nuwell AI: The Fuel

Lastly, we have to talk about Nuwell. You guys won’t believe this, but Apple Pay recently declined someone who genuinely wanted to pay for a subscription. I had to personally jump in and guide them to use Paystack.

It might sound like a minor technical setback, but seeing someone (I mean a real person) ready to pay for something we built? That’s the fuel. It’s the reason to keep sending DMs, keep pushing, and keep iterating.

We built something solid. People just need to know about it.

Onward to Q2.

For this part of the year, I have no idea what's coming, but one thing is for sure: ACTOR NO DEY DIE FOR FILM!

See you laterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

You might be surprised that I haven't mentioned school yet. For a final year student, school is actually the least of my problems right now. I’m just waiting for my final exams to come around so I can finally get TF out of this place and focus 100% on my unemployment(Sad).

Another thing I haven't talked about is my eating habits. Has it improved? Or ???????? You’ll have to watch out for the next update to find out!!
